Bar Bù

Surprising Chinese dishes with French influences, flanked by wines from all over the world and cocktails: that is Bar Bù.

Serene tranquility in the middle of the city

Once you have passed the two Chinese temple lions at the entrance to Bar Bù and climbed one of the two stairs (Bù stands for 'stairs' in Chinese) you will feel like you are in another world. A world full of stylish Chinese details, and a world full of history. Because the characteristic building - right next to the Westelijk Handelsterrein - where Bar Bù is now 'home', used to be the place where the famous La Stanza and recently Mara by Flip were located. Let yourself be led through one staircase to a mysterious bar with lounge to enjoy a cocktail or after dinner drinks. Or take the other stairs to the attractive restaurant with an adjacent beautiful courtyard of over 200 m2. Here you spontaneously forget that you are in the heart of Rotterdam. Whichever staircase you choose, you can enjoy the refined dishes everywhere.

Familiar faces, experimental preparations

Bar Bù is from the same owners - Chris Bergers, Robin Bravenboer and Merijn Sips - as the successful River Bar a little further away in the Kooren pavilion right on the Nieuwe Maas. With Bar Bù they are starting a new episode in Chinese French cuisine, all with a subtle nod to the famous River Bar concept. At Bar Bù, the menu - in addition to a number of classic dishes - is also designed for shared dining: various bites, oysters, small cold and warm dishes and a number of specials. Think of foie terrine with black tea and plum, langoustine with white cabbage and coconut. Bar Bù's cuisine is experimental. Taste the dumpling with pork, shrimp, shiitake mushroom and eel and you will immediately understand what it means.
