European Outdoor Film Tour showcases adventure at Theater Zuidplein

Europe’s largest outdoor film tour is celebrating its 25th anniversary this year and is once again presenting five inspiring documentaries about extraordinary expeditions in the fields of skiing, climbing, kayaking and other (extreme) outdoor sports. The European Outdoor Film Tour will be at Theater Zuidplein on Thursday 22 October.

One of this year’s highlights is *Bravo Les Filles*. This documentary follows top female climbers Sasha DiGiulian and Mariana “Mango” Ordoñez on their expedition to Madagascar. They become the first all-female team to free-climb the legendary *Bravo Les Filles* route. The film shows how ambition, perseverance and the power of female role models inspire generations of climbers.

In *Wand in Sicht*, climber Philipp Hans, together with his brother Moritz and childhood friend Falk, sails to the Greek island of Amorgos to open a new climbing route. Their aim is a spectacular 250-metre climb, rising straight out of the sea. Along the way, however, their plans are constantly challenged by unpredictable conditions and the whims of nature.

*I Follow Rivers* is also on the programme. In this documentary, Norwegian kayaker Mariann Sæther, after twenty years of preparation, attempts to realise her greatest dream: kayaking down the impressive Aldeyjarfoss waterfall in Iceland. The documentary explores the balance between personal ambition and the responsibility she feels as a partner and mother.
