Three Carnival Nights during Zomercarnaval weekend at the Maassilo

Jeroen Veenstra

During the Summer Carnival weekend, the Maassilo will serve as the venue for Carnaval Nights for three days. From Thursday 23 to Saturday 25 July, music, culture and entertainment from the Caribbean, Latin America and Africa will come together in a festival featuring several areas, each hosted by its own organisation or community. More information and tickets via this link.

The line-up includes bouyon, dancehall, soca, kompa, Afrobeats and Latin, amongst others. Each area has its own identity and programme, allowing visitors to discover new sounds, artists and communities throughout the evening.

As an extension of the Summer Carnival, Carnaval Nights offers a place where visitors can carry on the party once the city has quietened down. Out on the streets by day, and later on at the Maassilo. With a mix of international and local artists, DJs and live acts, Carnaval Nights is becoming a regular meeting place for enthusiasts from home and abroad during one of Rotterdam’s biggest cultural weekends.

On Thursday 23 July, Carnival Night 1 will take place, featuring Alison Hinds, La Rouge, Tabanka and Massiv Band, amongst others.

On Friday 24 July, it’s Carnaval Night 2, featuring Jeon, Quincy, Latu, T Sean, DJ Dylvn and more.

On Saturday 25 July, it’s Carnival Night 3, featuring Kalibwoy, Heaven Sam, Henkie T, Rockafellababe and Maikel X.
