Frank Haasnoot is a world champion pâtissier and chocolatier with over 30 years’ experience. He works as a freelance consultant, entrepreneur and trainer, and has written two books on pâtisserie and one on chocolate. From Tuesday 3 November, lovers of patisserie and chocolate can visit FH Pâtissier & Chocolatier at Zwaanshals 301. Frank Haasnoot will then be offering, amongst other things, various creations from his books in his shop.

Frank Haasnoot says of his new venture: “Rotterdam has some wonderful bakeries and coffee shops, with a lovely selection of Viennese pastries. Personally, I felt there was still a lack of a place where refined patisserie and chocolate take centre stage. With this shop, I’d like to help fill that gap.”

The range includes, amongst other things, exquisite tartlets, light and airy pavlovas and a cake creation inspired by the dessert with which Haasnoot won the prize for best cake at the world championship. All products are freshly prepared each day in our own kitchen. Pure flavours and quality are our top priorities, and no gelatine is used.

The minimalist black interior and sophisticated lighting allow the patisserie, chocolate and colourful packaging to take centre stage. This also gives Haasnoot’s international style a home in Rotterdam.

The shop will open on 3 November with a soft opening and a carefully curated range. The range will be further expanded in the weeks that follow. The grand opening will take place a few weeks later.

During his career, Frank worked in places including New York, Kuwait, Taiwan, Hong Kong and Barcelona, where he developed his own modern take on patisserie and chocolate.

In 2011, he won the World Chocolate Masters in Paris, one of the most prestigious titles in the international patisserie industry.

He also took part in special events, including the wedding of a Saudi princess and a wedding celebration organised by the Ambani family, a family of Indian entrepreneurs.

Frank is already the owner of Bakkit Rotterdam, a modern bakery and coffee concept specialising in croissants, speciality coffee and creative bakery products. It is located next to FH Patissier & Chocolatie.
