Nanxiang Soup Dumplings brings handmade xiaolongbao to Westersingel
Nanxiang Soup Dumplings has opened its second branch in the Netherlands, at Westersingel 4. After two years in Amsterdam, the restaurant is bringing handmade soup dumplings (xiaolongbao) and a menu focusing on Shanghainese and Cantonese dishes to Rotterdam.
"We want to introduce the kind of Chinese flavours to Rotterdam that feel familiar to us from New York City," says Cherry Lam, co-founder of Nanxiang Soup Dumplings, whose Cantonese family has been in the hospitality industry in NYC for decades. “Part of the menu is designed for sharing. This makes the restaurant suitable for everyone, from solo diners to large groups.”
In the kitchen, each soup dumpling is freshly made using refined techniques, filled with rich stock and fresh ingredients. As well as the dumplings, the menu features classic Shanghainese dishes, combined with a selection of Cantonese classics, including rice cooked in a clay pot.
The restaurant spans two floors and has private dining rooms, suitable for both a quick lunch and longer group dinners. Nanxiang Soup Dumplings is open daily from 11.00 to 23.00.
