Not long after the bombing of Rotterdam on May 14, 1940, the city begins reconstruction. Rotterdam before the war consists of a messy street pattern and many slums, so this was the opportunity to improve. In contrast to other bombed cities, the map in Rotterdam has completely changed. The reconstruction was a very decisive period for the current city.
