King's Day 2024 with the kids

Of course, King's Day is great for children. Budding entrepreneurs can practice entrepreneurship at the free market, game fanatics can enjoy old Dutch entertainment and foodies can taste all sorts of things. Besides the big festivals, where are the activities for kids in Rotterdam this year?

Free market in the Park

On the lawn between Parqiet and the Tollens monument, all children may come and sell their old toys, knickknacks and trinkets on a rug. Performing is also possible, of course. All children and supervisors are welcome between 10.00 and 14.00.

Koningsdag Oranje Vereeniging Rotterdam Oost

Koningsdag Kralingen-Crooswijk will be organised for the 99th time. The children's party will take place on Mecklenburgplein. There will be nostalgic games like ring toss, cuckoo-hopping and chicken catching! There is a royal craft corner as well as Maxima's Silent Disco, and sports enthusiasts can conquer the Bungee Run. There will be musical performances by students of Codarts and the Rotterdam Hellendaal Music Institute, among others, Circusstad Rotterdam will also be present and there will be a puppet show.

Between 11.15 and 12.00, the Crown Parade will take place. A parade through Kralingen with the brass band in front and behind them children dressed as King and Queen.

The day will end with Kralingen 's got talent.

King's Day Crooswijk

The Crooswijk Foundation will again provide a wide range of activities for both young and old audiences at the junction at Paradijsplein and Rusthoflaan. Music is an indispensable element and will again be given a stage at this year's festivities. The programme is suitable for everyone. From toddler to boomer and from teenager to millennial There will be a rug market and a tombola. The children's programme is not only fun for toddlers, teenagers have also been thought of!

Liskids

The Liskwartier will, of course, also celebrate King's Day. There will be a free market and a stage for performances by DJ Okkie, Dad Bod Surfers, Trio Cor Nuiten XL and Convoi Exceptional, among others. Between concerts, everyone will be allowed to take the stage to perform on their own.

Children's entertainment comes in the form of crafts with Scrap XL or a marble track. At the Tower Garden, there will be an opportunity to take a quiet break. At the food court, there will be offerings from Osteria Liz, Ketelbinkie Koffie and the Ice Cream Man, among others.

Cape Kings Day

Deli Square has something for the whole family to do. There will be a children's free market from 9am. Later, there will be workshops by Ilse & Marijke and various music performances. Among others, Collective Lingua, Drumdrumdrum and brass band AGOGO will perform. Naturally, all cafés on the square will open their terraces.

King's Day Hillegersberg

Since 1958, Breedveldsingel has been buzzing with fun on King's Day. Throughout the day, there are activities for children and adults. At 9am, the free market opens and there will be warm-up dancing. On Mesdaglaan, there will be a Children's Square where kids can get their faces painted. But they can do crafts, decorate cakes, there are old-fashioned games and a mega bubble-blower.

Later in the day, there will be performances by Juul's Hoop Vibes, La Barre, Circus Rotjeknor, Small Big Band Sweet Riot, Roman the Magician and Kidz dj Show.
