When Waldy was fourteen, his parents Rika and Waldemar Nods were torn from his life as a result of the Second World War. As a boy he was torn between Dutch relatives where he never felt at home. In his thirties, he now hopes to find his own home in the stories about his Dutch mother and Surinamese father. Why was he their Sonny Boy? What part of them is in him? Who does he really belong to?
