Jasper van der Veen & Sjoerd Janssen

Jasper van der Veen was born as half Frisian. That turns out to be an advantage.

Jasper (Groningen, 1987) won both the Jury and the Audience Prize at the Leids Cabaret Festival in 2019. The NRC and de Volkskrant put him forward as one of the distinctive comedy talents of 2020. In the 20/21 season, Jasper will perform try-outs of his first full-length cabaret show 'It's going to turn out all right'.

Everything that seems obvious is a day job for Sjoerd Janssen. For Sjoerd, the social playing surface turns into a chessboard, where every possible move has to be thought out. But he can't play chess at all. Then it makes perfect sense that there could be glass in a cotton candy, small talk is a challenge and public transport bicycles are your enemy. His comedy is so otherworldly that it becomes recognizable.
