Founded in 2020 by Julian Sato, Sato Gallery represents an electric and unique group of emerging artists.
About Santo
Julien Sato worked in Tokyo's vibrant nightlife from an early age, bringing together emerging artists such as Ly, Takeru Amano and Fantasista Utamaro in an informal setting. His goal was to give them a platform and perhaps more importantly, to create a sense of community.
In 2016, Tokyo was exchanged for Paris and in 2020 Julien Sato founded Sato Gallery to present his artists outside their home country and build a bridge to the European art-loving community.
Since then, Sato Gallery has been introducing Japanese artists to Europe by organizing shows and participating in art fairs. In 2023, Sato Gallery opened showrooms in Paris and Rotterdam.
As a regular visitor to his home country, Sato is always on the lookout for emerging artists. To this day he is closely associated with the underground art community.
