An indoor artisan market in a historic warehouse on Katendrecht, showcasing Rotterdam’s finest local makers.
Fenix Food Factory Rotterdam: Artisanal Flavours on Katendrecht
Set inside the industrial Fenixloods I on Katendrecht, the Fenix Food Factory brings together some of Rotterdam’s most passionate food makers under one roof. What was once a warehouse along the Maas has evolved into a lively indoor market where craftsmanship takes centre stage. The raw, industrial setting gives the space character, while the open layout makes it easy to wander from counter to counter.
Here, local entrepreneurs present their products with pride. You will find craft beer from Kaapse Brouwers, carefully matured cheeses from Booij Kaasmakers and freshly baked sourdough from Jordy’s Bakery, alongside other Rotterdam makers who value quality and transparency.
Taste, Learn and Linger
Fenix Food Factory is more than a place to shop. Many producers work on site, offering insight into how their products are made. Visitors can sample cheeses, enjoy a locally brewed beer or compose a platter filled with bread, spreads and seasonal specialities to share at one of the communal tables.
The atmosphere is relaxed and social, drawing a mix of locals and visitors. Regular tastings and small scale events add to the experience, making each visit slightly different from the last.
A Culinary Stop on Katendrecht
Located on the Rijnhaven, the Fenix Food Factory is an easy stop while exploring Katendrecht’s waterfront. Whether you drop in for provisions, a casual drink or a laid back afternoon of tasting and conversation, this is Rotterdam’s artisan food culture in one compact, characterful space.
