Wandeltour Katendrecht
Come make a kapie! The Katendrecht Walking Tour takes you outside the museum, along the Kaap, and shows the neighborhood through the eyes of people who arrived here, left, and started over. The tour is guided by a storyteller from Verhalenhuis Belvédère.
Stories from the Cape

The first Chinatown on the European mainland originated here, Surinamese jazz musicians played in the nightclubs, and Greek peddlers earned their living on the water. Eastern European emigrants, Cape Verdean sailors, and today's refugees also left their mark. No place in Rotterdam tells as much about leaving and coming home as Katendrecht.
Discover the stories of Katendrecht guided by a storyteller from Verhalenhuis Belvédère. The route starts at the Kiosk on Plein, where you are welcome for coffee and tea. During the tour, you will receive a treat and visit several locations. The tour ends at Verhalenhuis Belvédère.

About Verhalenhuis Belvédère
Verhalenhuis Belvédère is the first house for intangible heritage in the Netherlands. It is a welcoming meeting place located in the Katendrecht district of Rotterdam. Belvédère collects and shares the personal stories of all the different Rotterdammers that this metropolis is rich in.
These stories are presented in various ways, from exhibitions to city walks, but always with a personal, positive, inspiring, and connecting approach. The goal of Verhalenhuis Belvédère is to bring Rotterdammers closer together through stories that contribute to greater understanding and connection between different worlds in the city.
