Pak Pak Gauw opens pop-up in Het Industriegebouw
Pak Gauw is the culinary love child of Freek Dekker and Jorn de Vries. You will know Dekker as kitchen boss of The Suicide Club, Biergarten and Ayla; De Vries is a designer and co-founder of Operator Radio. What started as a shared passion for street food grew into a firm favourite at many a festival and event. From Monday 17 to Saturday 22 November, the Rotterdam catering collective will open a pop-up in Het Industriegebouw.
Besides daily lunch and dinner, collaborations are planned with Grape Wines, Deep North, Suntory Whiskey, Drunken Lion Soundsystem and E4 Club. From a Beaujolais soirée to a yin-yang dinner and from live DJs to impromptu get-togethers.
''We love the fact that Pak Pak Gauw is temporarily settled in Het Industriegebouw,'' says co-founder Jorn de Vries. Normally we are at festivals or events, but now we get the chance to put our food, atmosphere and concept in one place for a week. There is something happening every day, so be sure to come by to eat and hang out."
Ten years of HIG
With this pop-up, Het Industriegebouw adds another creative chapter to its anniversary year. For 10 years, the national monument on Goudsesingel has been a place where makers, thinkers and entrepreneurs find each other. "We are hugely excited that Pak Pak Gauw is taking over the kitchen of our pop-up space for a week," says Eva Sharo, director of Het Industriegebouw. "It's great to see how new concepts can find a place here. Pak Pak Gauw brings together a new audience around food and music, and that's exactly the energy we like to have here."
