Arminius Private Dining brings intimate dining to the heart of Rotterdam

Arminius Private Dining is now available in the historic Arminius building near Museumpark, a new concept where gastronomy and hospitality come together in a unique, personal setting. Chef Fabian Oldenburger (World Museum, among others) and restaurateur Hani Asfdaai (Noah and De Kerktuin) create evenings full of flavour and atmosphere. For a small gathering, the Raadzaal is ideal, larger dinners are possible in the Kerkzaal.

The national monument was built between 1895 and 1897 to designs by Henri Evers and Jacobus Pieter Stok. Twenty years later, Evers would also design Rotterdam's city hall.

The national monument is named after Jacob Arminius (1560-1609), the founder of the Remonstrant Christian faith, which centres on reason, freedom and tolerance. On Sundays and Christian holidays, the building is still used by the Remonstrant Congregation Rotterdam (RGR).

On other days, Arminius provides a stage for public debate, cultural events and other activities. For example, the garden in front of the church on Westersingel has been used for pop-up terrace De Kerktuin for 3 years in summer. Also an initiative of Hani Asfdaai.
