NLVegan Fair serves up a combination of fair, festival and lectures in Laurenskerk
American author Christopher Sebastian McJetters is one of the speakers at the NLVegan Fair, the largest vegan evenement in the Netherlands, on 6 September in Laurenskerk. He will share the stage with three well-known vegan entrepreneurs: Hille van der Kaa, Lisa Steltenpool and Esther Molenwijk. The event with over 70 stands is taking place for the second time and is open to seasoned vegans to curious flexitarians. Tickets are available via this link.
Visitors can discover over 70 stands with plant-based products between 11am and 6pm. From cheese, cakes and chocolates to clothes, shoes and lifestyle items. There will also be all kinds of activities such as cooking demonstrations, workshops, speed dating sessions focusing on friendship and a creative corner for young and old.
The lectures
Christopher Sebastian McJetters is a journalist and consultant on digital media, among other things. He writes about food, politics, media and pop culture. In his lecture And you're a little dog too! Veganism and what makes a witch wicked, he delves into the story of Wicked. The novel, Broadway musical and film is about two witches. The Good Witch of the North and the Wicked Witch of the West. Using this story, Christopher Sebastian shows how people who stand up for justice are often framed as threats.
Hille van der Kaa, CEO of Those Vegan Cowboys, talks all about the future without a cow. Her lecture, The Stainless Steel Revolution: Say Cheese, Not Moo, is all about precision fermentation, stainless steel cows and plant-based revolutions.
Esther Molenwijk is director of The Food Revolution Foundation and host of the podcast Studio Plantaardig. To do so, she talks to farmers, activists, scientists and experts in the field about how we are tilting our menu. During the NLVegan Fair, the roles will be reversed and Esther herself will be interviewed.
Vegan dietician, lifestyle coach and mother of two Lisa Steltenpool gives the lecture: 4 Rs of Fully Vegan.
