Madaq has a boutique full of chocolates, cream and sorbet ice cream and macarons in the Koopgoot

Annemoon Kater

Soufiane Mourabit grew up in a Berber family and learnt the basics of North African cuisine at an early age. He experimented with surprising flavour combinations such as chocolate-coated dates, which were later further developed into sophisticated chocolates. This formed the starting point of Madaq (meaning flavour in Berber) and several boutiques followed. There is now one in the Koopgoot.

At the boutique, visitors can enjoy handmade chocolates with intense flavours such as salted caramel and hazelnut praline, homemade cream and sorbet ice cream, macarons inspired by the chocolates, and a range of hot and cold to-go drinks. All products are prepared with care and are inspired by Moroccan culture, where food not only nourishes but also connects.
