For ten days, Rotterdam toasts to the city's craft beer

Rotterdam Bierstad is a collective of local breweries that together show why Rotterdam is the beer capital of the Netherlands. From 8 to 18 May, they will organise the third edition of the Rotterdam Beer 10-day with an extensive programme full of tastings, festivals, dinners, tours, master classes and more.

The opening of the Rotterdam Beer 10-day will be marked by the release of the annual MEGA 010-Collab: a joint beer production by the various Rotterdam breweries. For the 2025 edition, the beer was brewed at Noordt Brewery. The first keg will be exclusively tapped on Thursday 8 May at 17:00 at Café de Oude Sluis on Havenstraat 7.

"The MEGA 010 Collab is a treat to brew together every year. This time we let the public choose the style, which makes it extra special. The result is a beer to which the whole city contributed," says Lisette Tanis, board member of Rotterdam Beer City and co-owner of ROTT. Brewers.

Programme

Various locations around the city will host activities around Rotterdam beer during the 10-day event. Besides beer festivals, brewery tours and tap takeovers, this year there is a special mega pub crawl: participants visit at least ten pubs, collect stamps and have a chance to win great prizes. Stadsbrouwerij De Pelgrim celebrates its 30th anniversary, V11 celebrates 11 years and Jelster celebrates its 5th anniversary with a new release of beer at Haagse Bluf.

There will also be the sporty ROTT.REBEL.RUN, a 12-kilometre social run through Crooswijk on 17 May. Participants will go around Crooswijk's iconic cemetery in six 2-kilometre rounds. The run is open to both solo runners and pairs in relay form with the duo alternating each lap.

Start and finish are at Bar Alaska on Kerkhof Avenue - the perfect place to relax afterwards during ROTT. Brewers Tap Take Over. During the Tap Take Over, these brewers will take over the taps with a selection of their own beers, including non-alcoholic varieties. There will also be snacks and music .
