Sportsbar Panenka was previously located on Eendrachtsweg and closed its doors at the end of 2024. Morris Eppinga and Ray Luijando have revived the concept in formerly Nazar on the Schiedamse Vest.
Ray Luijando: Because we think Rotterdam deserves a place where sports, cosiness and good food come together, Morris and I jumped into the gap that was created. This way, we also give back to the people who already loved coming to the old Panenka their regular spot."
In April 2025, the men got the key to the building at Schiedamse Vest 12 and, after a lot of demolition, rebuilt the place (almost all by themselves). Morris Eppinga (also known from De Schouw)proudly. "We worked very hard to make the premises look tiptop and we are proud of the result. With the help of friends, family and future staff, we have made it a cosy, warm place where sport is central."
From football and darts to golf and basketball, every sport you can think of is broadcast in the establishment. Thanks to the large number of screens stylishly incorporated into the interior, everything is easy to see at any spot. "But you can also join us for a cosy drink or meeting," Morris explains.
Ray adds: "The menu features delicious pizzas and various snacks. Craving more of a burger? Our fine neighbours from The Goat have put together two burger specials that you can also order." The menu will be expanded by the kitchen team in the near future.
Panenka is open again at a new location at Schiedamse Vest 12
