Samson en (een Beetje) Delilah - Theatergroep Aluin

For centuries we have been telling each other the same stories: fairy tales, folk tales, stories from mythology. And from the Bible, such as the story of Samson and Delilah; an original heroic story. Samson, the strong one with his magical manes, who protects his people in the promised land. Against the treacherous, Philistine spy Delilah.

But this time, theatre group Aluin turns the light on the other side and approaches the conflict from Delilah's perspective. What if Delilah is not a spy, but a freedom fighter? And Samson... just a violent hothead with an inflated ego? And themes such as poisonous possessiveness, femicide and patriotism emerge. In this way, the old story is given new meaning and characters a contemporary face, in a mix of theatre, dance and the martial art Brazilian Jiu Jitsu.
