Zomerworkshop Luister naar Korstmossen
Have you ever spotted a lichen? Lichens are yellow, gray, or orange 'spots' on stones, trees, and walls. You usually just walk past them, but secretly, they are very unique things with a special trick.
It is actually not a plant, but a collaboration between a fungus and an algae (or bacterium). One provides protection, the other produces food using sunlight. Together, they survive in places where almost nothing else can.
Workshop
In this unique workshop, led by artist Suzette Bousema and scientist Ingeborg Klarenberg, you and your kids (ages 7 and up) will examine various lichens. But it won't stop at just looking; we will go on a hunt and even listen to them.
