The Elephant in the Room
The Elephant in the Room is a visual, intimate, yet confrontational performance by the Rotterdam collective Lazy Susan & Co. The performance resembles a poetry collection and consists of short scenes. These physical and visual meditations express a subject that resonates deeply with us: the feeling of fear.
The decor, a large inflatable wall designed by artist Sheray of Light , serves as a powerful metaphor for everything we tend to avoid, ignore, or suppress until it inevitably grows... Everyone has fear, but how can we prevent our fears from ruling our lives? How do we find new ways to relate to what we fear? How can we stay with the problems, instead of freezing or running away from them?
