During Rotterdam Pride, there is room in the city for meeting and celebration, but also for the fight for equal rights and the freedom to be yourself.
Fenix is organizing Table of Belonging, an evening about queer migration, feeling at home, and belonging. Listen to personal stories and then take a seat for a communal buffet dinner from The Migrant Kitchen, where the conversation continues at the table.

17:00 – 17:15: Walk-in
17:15 – 18:15: Personal presentation by Pete Wu and panel discussion
18:30 – 19:45: Vegetarian dinner by The Migrant Kitchen and world café: table discussions on the theme of the evening.
19:45 – 20:00: Closing
About the partners and speakers
Alex Huang conducts research into migration, diversity, and inclusion and developed Table of Belonging as co-curator together with Fenix. In Alle Richtingen, his personal talisman is on display, connecting his family story with his quest to be himself as a queer person.
Sharvin Ramjan is a writer, presenter, and moderator. During Table of Belonging , Sharvin leads the conversation and brings together the different stories and perspectives.
Pete Wu is a writer, journalist, and documentary filmmaker. In his work, he explores Chinese-Dutch identity, family, love, and the right to be yourself.
Jamel Buhari researches queer African migration. He brings a scholarly perspective to identity, community, and life between different cultures.
Alejandra Ortiz is a writer, activist, and community builder. In her work, she advocates for the visibility and position of transgender and gender-diverse people.
Naomie Pieter is a queer entrepreneur, choreographer, and anti-racism activist. In her work, she connects art, activism, and Afro-spirituality, and she is the founder of Pon Di Pride and the initiator of Black Pride NL.
The Migrant Kitchen explores and celebrates the dishes and ingredients of diaspora communities, with a special focus on African cuisines and Portuguese-speaking countries. Through food, founder and chef Rita Baldé makes historical connections visible and brings people, cultures, and stories together.
