Queer Poetry Nights is a free open mic celebrating queer voices through poetry and spoken word. Hosted by Unwanted Words, it offers a safer space for self-expression, connection, and community — centering LGBTQIA+ creatives and allies.
Queer Poetry Nights is an open mic series created by Unwanted Words, the first platform in the Netherlands dedicated to emerging queer poets. These nights are free to attend and open to anyone who wants to share or witness the power of queer voices in poetry, spoken word, or performance.
We believe in the importance of storytelling as resistance, healing, and celebration. That’s why we’re committed to holding a safer space where LGBTQIA+ individuals — especially those from underrepresented backgrounds — can express themselves authentically and without judgment.
Whether you're a seasoned poet, a first-time performer, or a supportive listener, you’re welcome here. Come as you are, share your words, and be part of a growing community that turns “unwanted” stories into unforgettable ones.
