Project FIFTEEN - Door de lens van de volgende generatie
PROJECT FIFTEEN shows that young people all over the world have similar dreams, even though their circumstances differ greatly. By giving the camera to them, they determine their own story.
This photography exhibition shows how young people all over the world can have the same dreams but do not receive the same opportunities. In this exhibition, 15-year-old youths tell their own story, not with words, but with images. The photos were taken during participatory photography workshops in which young people were encouraged to capture their daily lives. Under the guidance of local photographers and photojournalists, they learned to visualize their surroundings, experiences, and perspectives. In doing so, they were given the space to express their creativity and draw attention to the social challenges they encounter in their lives. The workshops were led by local photographers in various countries in Nigeria, Uganda, Bangladesh, Nepal, and Ukraine. During these workshops, the young people photographed their own world: their homes, their friends, their families, and the places where they grow up. These personal images offer a rare glimpse into their daily lives and reveal the realities and social issues they face. This exhibition invites visitors to reflect on that difference and to look at the world through the eyes of these young people.
