A play in the form of an entertaining therapy session.
Will Mevrouw Ogterop return to Walhalla this year? Of course! That is a regular occurrence, because we know: these performances are always wonderfully idiosyncratic and strong. After the success of 'Ik zou liever Angel heten' (2023), the company is now making another performance about 'identity', just like then written by Jibbe Willems.
'Perfect girl' is about the discrepancy between people's inner world and the image they portray of themselves. To what extent do we know how we come across to others? And if that doesn't match who we are 'on the inside', how can we be sincere and honest?
We meet Anna in the intimacy of a session with her coach Cor. She appears to have to keep a thousand balls in the air (of herself) to meet her ideal image. Anna has always evoked and confirmed the image of someone with a perfect and successful life on all fronts. In her attempt to tell her real story, she is hampered by fear of what the outside world thinks of it. But that outside world is - like everyone else - also just in her head. The therapy session turns into a psychological thriller with surprising plot twists.
