Eric Vloeimans, Frank Woeste & Franck Agulhon
Eric Vloeimans forms a new trio with pianist Frank Woeste and drummer Franck Agulhon. Their musical language? Melodic, adventurous and constantly in motion.
Eric Vloeimans is a regular performer on our stage and continues to reinvent himself. This time, the beloved trumpeter is coming to Rotterdam with a new trio and a new album. Together with German pianist Frank Woeste and French drummer Franck Agulhon, he explores the tension between lyricism, improvisation, and rhythmic energy.
Vloeimans’ recognizable trumpet playing moves effortlessly from whispering and narrative to exuberant and fiery. There has long been a musical kinship with Woeste. The Paris-based pianist combines jazz and classical music and is known for his sound experiments on piano and Fender Rhodes. He has worked with artists including Ibrahim Maalouf and Youn Sun Nah. Agulhon, trained at the Drummers Collective in New York, has played with musicians including Biréli Lagrène and Baptiste Trotignon. Together, the three idiosyncratic musicians develop a shared musical language: melodious, adventurous, and constantly in motion. Line-up: Eric Vloeimans - trumpet Frank Woeste - piano, Fender Rhodes Franck Agulhon – drums
