Wijsheid - Bewustzijn & Gewaarzijn (studieweekend) studieweekend
Under the guidance of Lama Rinpoche Jigmé Namgyal, we will explore the subtle layers of consciousness and learn how, when cultivated and deeply understood, consciousness becomes the source of wisdom.
Join us for a weekend of profound exploration into the nature of mind and reality through the lens of Buddhist philosophy. Under the guidance of Lama Rinpoche Jigmé Namgyal, we will delve into the subtle layers of consciousness and discover how, when cultivated and deeply understood, consciousness becomes the source of wisdom.
In the Mahāyāna Buddhist tradition, consciousness is not regarded as a single function, but as a rich and layered process that shapes how we relate to ourselves and the world. Beyond the five senses and our conceptual mind, there are deeper levels of consciousness that hold our emotional patterns, habits, and karmic imprints. At the most subtle level lies what is known as the root mind—a quiet, underlying stream of awareness where all of our experiences leave their trace. By becoming aware of how these layers interact, we begin to understand the roots of our suffering and confusion, opening the path to genuine insight and inner freedom.
Throughout the weekend, Lama Jigmé will guide us in understanding how these layers work within us, how they influence our perception of reality, and how we can—through insight and meditative awareness—liberate ourselves from confusion and suffering.
By recognizing the interdependence of mental states and the conditions that underlie them, we develop a more compassionate and balanced perspective on the complexity of life. Ultimately, the study and direct experience of consciousness opens the doorway to true inner clarity and freedom.
