Under Construction

Artists with a background in civil engineering, for whom architecture is a recurring subject, or who have a preference for creating installations/site-specific work, draw inspiration from the exhibition space of KunstWerkt.

2026 is an anniversary year, on the one hand for KunstWerkt, which celebrates its 35th anniversary this year, and on the other hand for the building in which the foundation has been housed since 2022; it was ceremoniously opened 60 years ago as a post office.

The participating artists draw inspiration from the building's past, experiment with materials, respond to each other's work, and allow pieces to flow into one another. It is an exhibition where the final result is not clear beforehand. If one can even speak of a final result, as the work continues throughout the exhibition, and visitors can also get to work themselves at various locations during opening hours.
