Op verhaal komen met Bas Ragas
Step out of the daily hustle and bustle and join us on Sunday, December 6, 2026, for a walk full of personal encounters, inspiring questions, and surprising conversations through Rotterdam.
What occupies our minds? Where do we find comfort, hope and connection? And what questions do we carry with us? During the first edition of ‘Jezus, waarom?’ – Op verhaal komen, De Rode Boksbal, the Laurenskerk and city pastor Harold Schorren invite you to discover Rotterdam together with Bas Ragas and to get to know each other better.
The walk starts at 13:00 in the Laurenskerk. Organist Hayo Boerema will provide a musical opening at the start with a fitting work by Bach. We will then set off through Rotterdam. Along the way, inspiring question cards will provide prompts for conversations about faith and doubt, love and loss, and everything that connects us as human beings. There is space to share, to listen and to reflect together on questions for which there is not always a simple answer.
During the route, we will visit the Pauluskerk, where participants can donate a warm piece of clothing for Rotterdammers who could really use it. A small gesture that makes the connection with the city and its residents tangible. We will also make a stop at the Arminiuskerk for a warm drink. And the walk ends back at the Laurenskerk, where we will conclude the afternoon together with music by Bas Ragas.
Everyone is welcome. Whether you are religious, have doubts, are curious or simply fancy a special afternoon with other people: join the walk and come and share your story.
The walk ties in with the theatre performance of the same name, ‘Jezus, waarom?’, in which Bas Ragas and Lottie Hellingman can be seen together in Dutch theatres from March 2027. This musical performance focuses on Biblical stories about love, surrender and beauty.
