Stronger Together: Anti-racism for Parents

At Onni Asian Moms Meetups, we discuss the importance of word choice when explaining racism to children. Without the right words, children may label painful experiences as 'bullying' or 'being mean.' They then fail to recognize the larger systems behind these experiences. As parents, we lead by example. When children see you stand up for change, they learn this too.

Interactive Workshop: Anti-Racist Parenting

That is why we are inviting Jillian Emanuels , known as The Instant Pedagogue , back again. You will attend a practical and interactive workshop on anti-racist parenting. During this session, as a parent, you will receive concrete tools for anti-racist parenting. You will learn how to start age-appropriate conversations about racism at home. You will practice real conversation situations together. You will also reflect on and share experiences in a pleasant, supportive environment.
