Michael Foster, Leila Bordreuil and Chris Corsano trio

With this concert, we launch 'Infinite Hiss', a new ongoing concert series at de Doelen in which groundbreaking makers bring together improvisation, noise, and acoustic sounds into an intense live experience. Within this series, de Doelen offers a new stage to makers who disregard genres and create the most surprising music precisely outside of them.

Michael Foster, Leila Bordreuil, and Chris Corsano push the boundaries of their instruments in this intense trio, combining raw noise with a sharp acoustic sensibility. Bordreuil and Foster began playing as a duo at the age of 18 and developed an almost telepathic musical language through their early improvisations. Shortly thereafter, they met Chris Corsano and immediately discovered a shared aesthetic that they have continued to develop ever since.

The duo remained Bordreuil and Foster's primary artistic expression for nearly a decade, leading to the release of their first album, The Caustic Ballads, on Relative Pitch Records. Corsano, Bordreuil, and Foster have been active as a trio and in various ensembles since 2012 and have become giants in the American noise and improvised music scene, known for their keen listening skills and visceral playing.

This trio represents two decades of collaboration, dating back to the origins of these musicians' musical languages, and marks their first joint performances outside the United States.
