Keys of Anatolia
Pianist Julia Tavit brings together Armenian, Greek and Turkish melodies at Studio de Bakkerij, with oud player Eleni Mik and historical stories by Lesar Yurtsever.
Keys of Anatolia is a musical journey through the cultures of Anatolia, conceived and developed by pianist Julia Tavit. On the piano, she explores melodies and stories from Armenian, Greek and Turkish musical traditions. The programme connects these traditions with a personal, contemporary classical interpretation. Oud player Eleni Mik adds the timbres of the traditional lute. Lesar Yurtsever talks about the history and cultural heritage behind the music. In this way, piano, oud and historical stories come together in a concert where different cultures meet. Three of Julia Tavit's students will also perform.
