The tenth edition of Kalponik Rekha presents, in collaboration with the British label Chinabot, works by two4.41139, Leng Seong, Bass Boss (dj Khabir) and improvisation performances with Jiyoung Wi and Cavid Dhen. Kalponik Rekha is a platform for sound and performance art that promotes collaboration between South Asian artists. Chinabot is a multidisciplinary platform, record label and radio network that promotes experimental Asian diaspora music.

Performances by two4.41139, Leng Seong and Bass Boss

two4.41139 (vocals, guitar, arp2600) is a member of WORM Sound Studio, founder of Kalponik Rekha and part of Chinabot Asia. She presents an electro-acoustic live improvisation performance of her as-yet-unreleased project with Chinabot, together with Jiyoung Wi (violin) and Cavid Dhen (flute). Leng Seong, also an artist from Chinabot Asia, recently released his debut album Gweilo. The album is partly inspired by the Malaysian folktale Sang Kancil and contains 808s, Chinese choir samples, anime-inspired chants and unintelligible vocals. Bass Boss (dj Khabir) closes the evening and introduces the audience to Dek Bass. This is a sound system culture with many decibels and low frequencies. It is rooted in powerful bass, specially built sound systems and immersive listening experiences.
