Fifty years ago, Louis Andriessen forever changed the landscape of new music with Hoketus. The radical instrumentation and uncompromising rhythms became a foundation for the Hague School and inspired composers far beyond the Netherlands. For this anniversary celebration, Michael Gordon, co-founder of Bang on a Can and strongly influenced by Andriessen, wrote a new mirror composition. Not a tribute, but a contemporary continuation of Andriessen's musical legacy.
