Heerenhuyskamerconcert - Merel Sophie

Singer and songwriter Merel Sophie creates a slightly wistful mix of Americana, jazz and soul, music with which she knows how to create atmosphere and connection. Her strongest weapon is her warm, powerful voice with a natural suppleness, and on top of that, she writes her own songs. Her music is reminiscent of Joni Mitchell, Carole King and Norah Jones, but for today.

In this concert, Merel Sophie presents her new work, accompanied by Codarts jazz vocal teacher Bart de Win and Diederik van den Brandt (Aidan & the Wild). At the conservatory in Rotterdam, Merel was considered one of Bart de Win's most talented students. After her studies at Codarts and Berklee College of Music in Valencia, she grew into a versatile performer. Since then, she has built up an impressive track record as a singer and songwriter, including collaborations with Tim Knol, DeWolff and the Dawn Brothers.
