Melancholy: longing for something you have never experienced.

In the past, this feeling was viewed by doctors and thinkers as one of the four temperaments with which they attempted to penetrate the human state of mind. Unlike the other temperaments, melancholy could never be captured in a physical cause. It remains elusive, and yet everyone has felt it at some point.

In this concert, we navigate between different temperaments—sanguineous, phlegmatic, and choleric—until everything converges in melancholy. However, do not be alarmed; melancholy is more than a dark note. It initiates the creation of something beautiful, stemming from the awareness of transience and unfulfilled desire. Melancholy is a muse; the embodiment of the longing for desires.
