On the occasion of the exhibition SIDELINED. Space for Different Togetherness, designer and artist Yinka Ilori enters into conversation with curator Amanda Pinatih. An evening about co-creation, community, and play as a means to bring people together. Yinka Ilori Drawing on his British-Nigerian background, artist and designer Yinka Ilori tells new stories through contemporary design. In doing so, he draws inspiration from Nigerian parables and storytelling traditions and addresses themes that resonate with people worldwide. Ilori believes that art and design should be accessible to everyone. His colorful, playful, and often humorous projects demonstrate how design can connect people and contribute to a stronger society. He frequently uses the city as his canvas, giving public spaces new meaning. In doing so, he invites people to actively participate in his work and their environment. In 2025, he founded the Yinka Ilori Foundation, a non-profit organization that designs vibrant and accessible places in collaboration with communities.
