Avishai Darash Trio

Some encounters start with a spark. Pianist Avishai Darash and drummer Joe Blaxx ran into each other during a performance. When they started playing together, it clicked within a few bars. When it turned out that Blaxx was also moving to the Netherlands, a new musical alliance was born.

Together with bassist Omer Govreen, they form the trio Heart Bop. Their music? Groovy, energetic, and full of joy in playing. The band name is a nod to hard bop, the jazz movement from the fifties and sixties. The trio gives that tradition a contemporary twist with original compositions and collective improvisation.

Heart Bop played its first concert in June 2026 at the Red Light Jazz Festival in Amsterdam. Record label TRPTK heard the band there and offered them a record deal on the spot. Two months later, the trio recorded a complete album in one day at the Wisseloord Studios in Hilversum. The result? Catchy, contemporary, and incredibly groovy. The album will be released on 8 January and they will play it live at LantarenVenster. Line-up Avishai Darash – piano Omer Govreen – double bass Joe Blaxx – drums
