Dia di Lucha pa Libertat On Monday 17 August 2026, Dia di Lucha pa Libertat (Day of the Struggle for Freedom), Stichting Gedeeld Verleden Gezamenlijke Toekomst, in collaboration with OASE, presents the annual Tula Lecture. On this special day, we come together to honour the legacy of Curaçaoan resistance leader Tula, who led the island's largest revolt against slavery in 1795. His fight for freedom, justice and human dignity continues to inspire generations. The Tula Lecture is more than a commemoration. It is an evening where history, art, music and conversation come together. Through talks, spoken word, visual art and live music, we reflect on freedom, identity, cultural heritage, and how our shared past continues to shape our future.
