Stichting Westvest 90

The Westvest 90 Foundation has been organizing a concert series for classical chamber music for more than 25 years.

The beautiful Westvestkerk is a national monument built in 1909 by architect Henri Evers. The church is a hall church with a wooden barrel vault with hipped roofs above the round arch windows. The entire interior was designed by Evers, with a combination of different architectural styles.

The pulpit was given a Byzantine style, while the stained glass windows have more Art Nouveau forms. The acoustics of the building are famous and many chamber music concerts and CD recordings are held there. In 2010, the building was given an advanced, low-noise climate control system, a conditioned wing cellar and facilities to receive a large audience at concerts. This made the church building even more suitable for musical purposes.

The church is also rented for CD recordings, meetings and events such as the Night of History, the Historical Bridge Tour and the Suikerzoet Film Festival. Everyone who has something to celebrate or commemorate is most welcome.

The church is also used every Sunday for a church service of the Vrijzinnigen Schiedam.
