International Architecture Biennale Rotterdam

From the first edition in 2003, the International Architecture Biennale Rotterdam (IABR) has drawn attention to the value of design research.

Rotterdam architecture, landscape and urban planning

The International Architecture Biennale Rotterdam (IABR) focuses on the essential and pioneering role of architecture, landscape and urban planning in tackling global challenges resulting from climate change. It addresses crucial spatial issues such as water management, energy transition, housing needs and food supply, with a continued focus on the pursuit of a healthy and fair ecosystem.

Cultural public programme

Every two years, the IABR presents an extensive cultural public program with exhibitions, debates, lectures, workshops and tours, celebrating the imaginative power of architecture. The biennial continues the research and debate between successive editions. From Rotterdam, the IABR puts the national and international architectural debate on the agenda and stimulates it.
