Baroeg launches Back Baroeg crowdfunding campaign to realise furnishings

On 5 and 10 April, with Festerfest and Zeke, will be the first try-outs at the new Baroeg. Because according to the current planning, the first gigs could start taking place in the new building in the second quarter of 2026. Should it not be possible to organise the try-outs in the new building, they will be moved to a Baroeg On Tour venue. Meanwhile, crowdfunding campaign Back Baroeg has also been launched to realise the facility.

Commissioned by the municipality of Rotterdam, a completely new building will be completed that meets the requirements of the present time. The building will have a concert hall, a stage, backstage facilities (such as a loading dock, dressing rooms with toilets and showers), a kitchen, a green room (reception area for the artists), a café, bars in the hall and café, toilets, offices and an entrance area. The building will be delivered as shell, to be fitted out by Baroeg itself.

The interior is largely funded from the foundation's accumulated earmarked reserve. This consists mainly of subsidies received in advance from the cultural plan of the municipality of Rotterdam, but also of own financial resources accumulated through donations, profitable concerts and contributions from the Friends of Baroeg. In addition, Baroeg has secured additional funding from fundraising.

To give the interior the same good quality as the building itself, additional financial resources are needed. Buying technical equipment in particular is expensive, and since good sound and lighting are essential for the right audience experience in the new building, it would be an eternal shame if this had to be cut back. Therefore, Baroeg has started a crowdfunding.
