WFFR - Notes from the Woods

Dutch premiere during the Wildlife Film Festival Rotterdam 2026 Film and nature lovers, pay attention! In collaboration with @wildlifefilmfestivalrotterdam Notes from the Woods (directed by Riho Västrik) is an observational nature documentary that follows the wild life in the forests of Estonia. Filmgoers who attended the documentary Whispers in The Woods, and of course other nature and/or film lovers, can once again fully enjoy the beautiful film footage. The viewer gets a sense of immediate presence. A meditative film journey takes the viewer to the Estonian forest, where large predators such as bears, wolves and lynxes go about their daily business around a feeding spot deep in nature. Without commentary or explanation, the camera (the camera shows the visitor intriguing and sometimes unexpected situations) observes how these animals meet, compete and live together. When a cautious wolf seizes its chance for an easy meal, a fascinating portrait of instinct, survival and the subtle dynamics of wild life emerges. A meditative nature documentary that invites the viewer to experience nature up close.
