Wende returns to the stage with new music. Expect a concert where pop, chanson, and electronica come together, and where vulnerability and strength lie close together.
Wende is an artist who is not easily pigeonholed. Pop, electronica, jazz, classical, and chanson: for years, she has been bringing different worlds together in idiosyncratic albums and performances. But perhaps her versatility comes to the fore most strongly on stage. There, her voice and lyrics take center stage, and a song can start small and vulnerable, only to break open moments later into something grand and compelling.
In 2027, Wende returns with new work from her album Er Is Nog Tijd , which will be released at the end of January. The songs originated after the end of a love, but are primarily about what comes next. About longing and growing older, intimacy and shame, about daring to show yourself, and about the question of who you become when life takes a different turn than expected.
Live, she performs her songs with the narrative power of chanson, the directness of pop, and her characteristic intensity. A concert where vulnerability and strength lie close together. Line-up: TBA
