Weekend van de Wetenschap: Mini-colleges DNA door Erasmus MC - 3 oktober 2026
Discover how DNA influences our lives during the Weekend of Science. Young researchers from Erasmus MC share fascinating insights into hereditary conditions, medication, and family history in mini-lectures. Be amazed by the world of DNA and ask the experts all your questions.
Meet young DNA researchers
During the Weekend of Science, you will meet young DNA researchers from Erasmus MC. They will tell you about their daily work. What does a small error in your DNA mean for your health? Why does medication work for one person but not for another? And can DNA help uncover family histories that have not been recorded anywhere? The researchers share their knowledge in short mini-lectures. These lectures are not a complex scientific conference, but are about research that can change our lives.
Ask your questions to the experts
After each mini-lecture, there is time to ask the researchers questions. You can drop in for one lecture, attend a few, or stay for the entire afternoon. Admission is free and registration is not required. Where better to meet researchers than in a museum where science comes to life every day? The Natural History Museum researches and preserves animals, fossils, and other collection items that tell us more about life on Earth. On October 3, research into our own DNA will be added to this. Visit the exhibitions before or after the mini-lectures.
