Srefidensi Konmakandra
Suriname celebrates its independence on 25 November, and that is why on Saturday 21 November we are bringing together the Rotterdam and Surinamese community who are committed to Surinamese heritage.
Together with Jaasir Linger, Stichting Bigi Prisiri, Joan Nunnely and Radio Stanvaste, we are bringing people together with a lunch in honour of and in memory of 51 years of Surinamese independence: Srefidensi Konmakandra. It will be an afternoon full of food, stories, music and meeting. The food is more than a meal: it is a meeting between generations, between then and now. During the meal, there will be recitations, spoken word, live music and personal stories that make the importance of this day tangible and spark conversations at the table.
