Science on Tap: Planetary Health Diet
Join Laura Wevers and Claudia Zoutendijk from the Wereld Natuur Fonds on a voyage of discovery and find out how our food choices affect nature, and learn about ways to eat healthily.
Tip: Enjoy an affordable, plant-based meal in our Kantine before the lecture. It is a great opportunity to taste the kind of food we will be talking about during this edition of Science on Tap, and to discover how delicious and accessible food can be – both for people and for the planet. What can you expect? In this edition of Science on Tap, Laura Wevers from the WWF takes us into the world of the Planetary Health Diet: a scientifically substantiated dietary model designed to support both human health and the planet. Discover how food production affects biodiversity, forests, freshwater and the climate, and how the work of the WWF to protect nature is connected to what eventually ends up on our plates. Together, we will explore what a healthy, planet-friendly diet can look like, and gain practical ideas for making tasty, nutritious and more sustainable choices in daily life without giving up the food you love. Expect new perspectives, thought-provoking conversations and plenty of room for questions. No prior knowledge is required, just curiosity and willingness.
