Salvador Sobral
With his new album A Flor do Recomeço, Salvador Sobral dives into the music of Brazil.
Portuguese singer and Eurovision winner Salvador Sobral presents A Flor do Recomeço, his first album entirely dedicated to Brazilian composers. The album was recorded in São Paulo and produced by Marcus Preto and Tó Brandileone. The release is scheduled for the second half of the year.
For this project, Sobral collaborated with an impressive group of songwriters, including Adriana Calcanhotto, Arnaldo Antunes, Chico César, Céu, Marcelo Camelo, Mallu Magalhães, Marcos Valle, and Tim Bernardes. The album title is based on a poem by Eveline Sin, set to music by Chico César.
With A Flor do Recomeço, Sobral returns to his musical roots. His love for Brazilian music emerged early and forms the core of this project. Instead of an external interpretation, he opted for close collaboration with Brazilian musicians, resulting in an authentic and cohesive album.
The recordings were made with a fixed group of musicians, including Tiago Costa (piano), Fábio Sá (double bass), Conrado Goys (guitar), Sergio Machado (drums), and Felipe Roseno (percussion). Together, they bring to life a collection of new compositions in which each voice retains its own character, yet is simultaneously part of a larger whole.
The result is a carefully constructed album in which tradition, collaboration, and personal interpretation come together.
