Roffa Sounds Rotterdams Philharmonisch Orkest

Stories and words from Rotterdam youth form the emotional core of this performance. Their experiences, dreams, and perspectives are interwoven with classical richness, rhythmic percussion, electronic soundscapes, and spoken word.

Roffa Sounds is a major new music project that translates the soul of Rotterdam into a completely new orchestral language. The work is built from rhythms and sounds that come directly from the city: from the bustle of the Markthal to the wind over the Erasmusbrug.

We see visual projections that bring the city to life. Youth voices and spoken word pass on the soul of the city.
