Los Angeles meets Rotterdam. On Saturday, May 25, RAUW will return to Rotown for an evening full of groundbreaking and genre-transcending music. Roufaida and Imaginarium show how things are going here in Rotterdam, while Dolphin Hyperspace brings the heat from Los Angeles.

Roufaida shows that boundaries are there to be broken. In a universe of subdued indie pop, the North African roots of this Rotterdam artist emerge in an original way. Riffy cassette samples, Arabic grooves, guitar, vocals and beats. With Roufaida, all the pieces of the puzzle magically fit together.

Straight from Los Angeles comes the exciting electro duo Dolphin Hyperspace. Saxophonist Nicole McCabe and bassist Logan Kane combine electronic beats and synths with groundbreaking, hyperactive jazz, inspired by record labels such as Brainfeeder. With these two super musicians on stage it is impossible to stand still.

Club music or concert music, who cares? Imaginarium does not think in boxes. With their kaleidoscopic view of music they switch seamlessly from dub to afrobeat and from UK jazz to electro.
